Culminating in what is sure to be an exciting hunter chase final at Cheltenham on 4th May 2011, the AGA Ladies' Open Point-to-Point Championship will see riders competing in a series of 28 qualifying races during the 2010/11 season.
AGA Chief Executive William McGrath said: "The Championship offers a chance to celebrate the achievements of women riders and we're very excited to be involved. This is a grass roots campaign for us. We estimate there are around 400,000 owners of AGA and Rayburn cookers throughout the country and we're confident we'll see many of them at point-to-point meetings."
Heather Kemp, board member responsible for sponsorship and PR at
the Point-to-Point Authority - the sport's organising body - said:
"We are thrilled to see the ladies' series back up and running
and it's great to have such a
prestigious sponsor as AGA and, of course, one so relevant to the
participants."
AGA will have a stand at all of the 28 qualifiers and will be unveiling its new AGA Service Plan. Race-goers will be able to meet the AGA team and find out more about the company's changing product line-up and services. There will also be exciting offers created exclusively for the point-to-point community.
AGA has also produced Welcome Home, a bespoke publication to celebrate the AGA Ladies' Championship. The magazine includes an exclusive extract from Jilly Cooper's new book JUMP!, as well as an interview with respected rider and trainer Louise Allan, recipes, special offers and more.
The AGA Ladies' Open Point-to-Point Championship begins on 5th December 2010 at Cottenham and climaxes on 4th May 2011 with the final at Cheltenham. The winning owners and riders will receive specially commissioned trophies.
