The AGA Fringe debut proves a sell out

The Edinburgh Festival is one of the world’s original and best cultural events.  Held in August, it has a massive ‘fringe’ – of which, this year, AGA became a part.

Mrs Moneypenny, the Financial Times Weekend columnist of whom Elle Macpherson commented: ‘…Mrs. Moneypenny – working mother and businesswoman with lots of media exposure. Just like me, really’ wanted to hold a show to explain the credit crunch and her ‘cost centre’ children.  She wanted to do so ‘at home’ and so for the duration of August the AGA Shop with its homely feel and welcoming staff headed by Shop Manager, Helen, became ‘home’ for Mrs Moneypenny in the true sense of the word.

It has also brought some great publicity being featured on BBC Radio 2, Sky News and the other day we had a film crew from the World Wide Service and this week should see us on BBC4.  Mrs Moneypenny has also appeared on ‘Loose Ends’ on Radio 4 and the other day Alistair Darling and his wife dropped in to see what all the fuss was about.

Our very own AGA Cookery writer and demonstrator, Dawn Roads, has also starred alongside Mrs Moneypenny for part of the show and has written her own blog on what it is like to be a part of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.  To read Dawn's blog please click here.

With the sell out show seeing 1,500 through the doors of the AGA Shop on Frederick Street, we expect a pretty hot autumn season in Scotland as Edinburgh and Perth lead the way for AGA in Scotland with sales up over a third so far this year.
